Een topklasse Touring voor de fijnproevers. Deze M550xd is fascinerend luxueus en valt op door het doordachte samenspel van vooruitstrevende techniek, hoogwaardige materialen en sportieve elementen. De F11-generatie belichaamt de essentie van het rijplezier waar BMW befaamd om is, met dank aan een vorstelijk comfort, het geruisloze schakelkarakter van de 8-traps ZF-automaat en de sterke 3-liter met liefst drie turbo's met 381pk en 740Nm koppel. De Glacier Silber metallic lak creëert een imposant en stijlvol voorkomen. Specifieke M550D-details, zoals de 'Ferric Grey'-spiegelkappen, diffusor en accentlijsten vallen daardoor extra op. Meest in het oog springend zijn de 20-inch BMW Styling 434M-velgen met daarachter grote remklauwen, eveneens in de kleur 'Ferric Grey'. De raamomlijsting, spiegelvoeten, dakrails en uitlaat-eindstukken zijn hoogglans zwart, onderdeel van het Individual Shadow Line-pakket. De achterste ruiten zijn licht getint. De samenstelling van het interieur is soortgelijk: er is gekozen voor het uitgebreide leder-pakket, wat resulteerde in een overwegend zwart 'Dakota' interieur, aluminium hexagon dashboard-inleg met gesatineerde accentlijsten en antraciet hemelbekleding. Gezien de hoogwaardige kwaliteit van het leder voelt het interieur smetteloos aan, waarbij de slijtage nihil is. De zuivere klanken uit het Harman/Kardon Surround Sound-systeem creëeren een ruimtelijke beleving. Luchtvering achter is standaard bij een Touring.

Dit betreft een 'High Executive'-uitvoering met een cataloguswaarde van € 114.238. Naast het fraaie LED-verlichting [herkenbaar voor de facelift-versie vanaf 2013] is deze BMW voorzien van adaptieve xenon-koplampen met bochtenverlichting en sproeiers, verkeersbordherkenning, Lane Change Warning, grootlicht-assistent en parkeersensoren voor en -achter. Daar blijft het niet bij; in de optielijst treffen we thans stoelverwarming voor én -achter, een dimmende binnenspiegel, elektrische achterklep, Driving Experience Switch, 4-zones Climate Control met airconditioning, ambient verlichting interieur, Bluetooth telefoon, USB-ingang, het opbergvakpakket, extra 12V-stopcontacten, de uitgebreide boordcomputer en BMW Apps, Assist en ConnectedDrive. In september 2013 werd deze 5-Serie door de BMW-dealer te Hamburg afgeleverd, waarna hij tot de import in Nederland [3-11-2014 bij 22.179km] door één zakelijke eigenaar werd bereden. Nadien volgden er vier particuliere eigenaren, zij wisselden op 2-4-2015 [34.615km], 31-1-2017 [79.795km] en 6-2-2020 [175.058km]. De laatste eigenaar heeft hem ingeruild op een hybride BMW X5. Hij liet jaarlijks regulier onderhoud uitvoeren, waarbij verder de automaatbak is gespoeld, de luchtbalgen achter en achterlichten zijn vernieuwd en recent de katalysator is vervangen. Hij staat rondom op goede Continental-winterbanden. De APK wordt bij de levering vernieuwd. Technisch rijdt en schakelt deze BMW uitstekend en de boordcomputer is storingsvrij. Beide sleutels en de volledige documentatie zijn aanwezig. Met zorgvuldig warm rijden en tijdig onderhoud kan deze BMW nog vele kilometers mee.

He had regular annual maintenance performed, including flushing the automatic transmission, replacing the rear air springs, and taillights, and recently replacing the catalytic converter.
